We held a three evening dinner meeting (dutch treat)new growers seminar concluded two weeks ago. We had fourteen who attended two or more meetings. An educated guess has been made. We think we see several dozen big pumpkins growing in our area for the first time.
Both the eatery and the persons attending seemed to enjoy the training sessions. Every new grower has had a great training session. Every new grower has the promise of assigned coaching available.
The growth is attributed to two media articles created by two different experienced growers. Every person attending is now a PGPGA and local group member.
A patch tour and picnic is scheduled and the trip to our Altoona Weigh-Off is being promoted. Is this excitement or what?

You are truely a carnival barker in your area Doc! Very impressive to get that many growers excited. Best of luck with your venture!

I can tell you that Williamsport Pumpkin team has more influence to get more people into growing pumpkins than religious people who knock on my door once a while (lol). I have been converted and became one of them now. Burr is my teacher and I have learned alot from him and still learning.
