Do a web search on www.dogpile .com Type in INLINE SCALES ( or cargo scales) and you will have all the info you need.
You can purchase as cheeply at 250.00 or up to as much as you want to spend. While researching last year i found several good companies that have scales around 500.00 that would do well for giant pumpkins.
Some companies if approached correctly will donate one to your club providing you buy one.
We just decided to stick with the floor scales because they are more dependable (in our opinion)
We do use one if we want to check a pumpkins weight while still hooked up to the plant. etc

Craig Did a lot of research on this, prior to buying one, ended up with a Canadian company, out of Saskatoon Sask. Here is the link http://www.massload.com/crane_scales_pg.shtml?gclid=CLewrcuLu4oCFSHBYAodL0SgQg
