i got a empty envelope from british columbia canada with a nice note that customs destroyed my seeds. i thought i was going to get through without that happening this year but they got me. i would rather not get the bubble at all and think it was lost than for them to send a empty one thats like a slap in the face. even my 3 year old daughter knows what a pumpkin seed is.

Ouch! How was the customs declaration filled out? I got a couple of seeds last week from the UK. The customs declaration label on the package said it was a commercial sample of string...LOL! They got here safe and sound, not even a scratch on the envelope. What planet are the customs people from... really?

I sent out my bubbles to the US this year with no customs declaration at all and they all arrived safely.
Wierd how that happens sometimes and not other times. Who sent you the bubble? I'm pretty sure that they will send you another.

I got exchanged bubbles from 9 Canadian growers ,,all arrived np.
Half used declarations,,half came plain brown wrapper.
Depends on the bureaucrat working the shift that day unfortunately I was lucky.

I received a package from the Connecticut Growers auction a couple weeks back and Canadian customs had opened it! Any Canadian growers have this happen? The bizzare thing is they never closed it properly and it showed up here wide open! Thankfully nothing fell out.

if your only sending a couple seeds you are almost better off to wrap the seed in a small piece of bubble wrap, then send it along in regular white envelope

my seeds from nysgpga were intercepted by NZ customs they wanted to know the proper Latin names and what the variety and crosses meant. then they released them. some bureaucrat justified his existence LOL

I have had a few seeds come down here from the US to Australia. I checked it all out with AQIS who told me that curcubita maxima is not a weed risk and that shipments of 100 grams or less were OK without a phyto cert as long as there was no dirt or muck on them and the scientific name was listed on the customs form. Of course the ones I got did not have customs forms or if so, they listed something else...

I don't think customes have the time to inspect every piece of mail traveling from Canada to the US. When I send seeds, I try to arrange them in the evvelope so they lay as flat as possible and also try to use a 00 buble instead of a 000. In the larger 00 bubble, they really don't "feel" like seeds at all. I have sent about a hundred bubbles to the US this year. As far as I know, all have arrived ok. John

why not fill out the small quantity seed importation form and not have worry about seed destruction or confiscation. But maybe that is to easy to do.
