(one of two posts) We, as a community, seem to go round and round the question of whether a proven hot seed actually has the best genetics, or has just been proven because seeds from top growers with high initial weights tend to get grown by the top growers. Top growers don't like to plant unproven seeds, unless they have a very high weight, which is understandable -- go with what seems to have the best chance of success. I have a suggestion for a contest to test this.
