I have been looking for a great place to relocate and grow giant pumpkins. Oregon is at the top of that list that is approved by Ms Wiz. What are the better locals in Oregon to grow. We are looking for a nice area, with land, prime garden pumpkin dirt, great place to retire. Please let me know of the great oregon places to live a grow.

Retire.....you hit the jackpot Wiz?? Seriously, track down Steve Daletas and offer him a chunk of money for his home and patch. Another beauty place is Washington State where alot of very well known growers live and grow. Day trips from British Columbia and Washington State would be easy for the Boyz to do....I'll bring the beer!!

Wiz, anywhere in the Willamette Valley is a great location. From Eugene to Portland. I guess the big thing is how much do you want to pay? We don't get hardly any snow so that may take a little getting used to. Any time you want to come up this way let me know.

just getting ready to move to my new patch in Dallas,Or. which is about 2o mins. west of the capitol Salem. finally enough room to grow 12-14 plants instead of the 3 plants i've been trying to shoehorn in for the last 6 years. jim is right anywhere in the Willamette Valley is good. better hurry, Oregon has more people moving into it then any other state. that's because it's awesome here!

Da Wiz, The wife and I have a nice shaded part of our patch that we dont use for pumpkins, you and Ms. Wiz are more than welcome to relocate there! But you'll have to fight the dogs for it on the hot summer days . . .

Got to prove you are tough and full of spunk here in colorado first, by growing something close to or over 1000 pounds first before moving to the low muddy country where the biggies grow...LoL, I had an offer which was hard to resist to move to a place in Oregon called Wilderville, OR. outside of Grants Pass, OR. and last year I almost went. The offer is still open for me, as well as Alaska, But, Well I Think I need to set a new Colorado Record First, Then it will be a cakewalk anywhere else....JK.

TheWiz is not leaving Colorful Colorado quite yet. The 5 year plan has been discussed and we were looking for a nice quite town that would be nice to settle into, decent weather, with acreage to have a garden and giant pumpkins. Oregon and Washington State immediately was discussed along with Rhode Island and Vermont. We have already done the job searches too, so this is serious. We have talked about visiting Oregon this year, but I told my sweet wife not in September......lol Next year I might be visiting Rhode Island and hope to get a tour of the Wallace's patchs and others while the wife is at her seminars.......But it will be hard to do since it is in July (pollination Time)......But this year my goal is to grow some big ones here, a big enough challenge in its own. I am really looking forward to this year, Grow'em BIG. And let me know more about Oregon.........Im really liking what I have been finding......
