There is a seminar this weekend?? When and where please.
I've been watching their site for updates so I can attened the first seminar of the year. I have been hesitant to join mostly due to what seems to me like lack of communication/involvment within the group. I'd like to attend a seminar to get a feel of how things work and meet some of the club members in person.

Anyone know who will be speaking and on what topics? What growing aides etc. will be available there? What can someone who has never been to a seminar expect?

The beginers seminar 2/17 is across from the Canfield (Mahoning Co.)fair grounds on RT 46 just over 1 mile south of RT 224 from the heart of Canfield. Go to yahoo maps and put in Canfield Ohio to get a map of the area.
The beginners seminar will be just basics with an attempt to not bury the growers with alot of info. I enjoy the beginers seminar and like the refresher course to help reinforce the basics. The last 2 years we have been fine tunning a very nice power point presentation plus there will be veteran growers there to help plus much more.
Our growers seminar on March 17 (same place) will feature Ron Wallace plus a heavy hitters round table with an open format for questions from the attendees. We always have updates for the latest fungacides and insecticides plus alot of veteran growers for one on one questioning during breaks a must see.
We are also aware of the slow response time in getting our web site updated and will be taking steps to improve it. Sorry for any inconvienence, we have one the best clubs in the world with our seminars and tours helping growers maximize their fruit to world class levels. Our members have set 3 world records with the most recent being the best top ten average at 1,208.7#'s we hope you will stop in and see first hand how we get-r-done!!!!!

If you are just getting started and can make it to this seminar do it. Last year was my first year and I beleive that attending it was one of the best things I did.

Would someone who is attending this event please send me an email ASAP. I was hoping one of you could ask Dale Lanterman a question, about one of his pumpkins, if he attends. Thanks!

Doug14, My apologies. I didn't get a chance to read this before going.
It was the perfect primer for begining growers. A little too basic for me, but I could have certainly used this instruction a few years ago. If you have never grown a Giant Pumpkin this seminar is a MUST Do. Tim Parks directs a very good presentation. I am looking forward to attending next months advanced seminar.
