I never would have thought them two pumpkins would have been able to cross Ron. Do you know anyone eles that has done that kind of cross before?
I cant wait to see what they produce. I picture it being a real bright orange AG pumpkin that is tall & skinny with long deep ribs.

Didn't Paul Ryes Cross with cinderella pumpkins for his research project?

Ron,
I knew the 1238 produced some beautiful orange pumpkins, but what I want to know is how was the ale?

Cinderella also known as Rouge Vif D’etampes is listed as C. maxima. The pollinations were 100% controlled so I assume the cross took. I germinated a 55 Rahe. As far as I know the Cinderella X AG cross hasen't been done.
The pumpkin ale was excellent. Quite smooth. I left out the traditional spices and found it to be quite drinkable.

In this link it says:

"In order to keep the seed pure, please plant and keep one final vine, and please keep one half of the seeds from any pumpkin(s) grown for Paul to continue his project in the fall of 2006/winter 2007. Please make sure that no other “Cinderella” pumpkin vines or other “Atlantic Giant” pumpkin vines are within 500’ of your vine. All other cultivation methods for growing giant pumpkins will apply.)"

This would sound as if he is mixing them. Don't know for sure though.

Sounds like Paul's breeding program is exclusive to the 567.5 Mombert and 801.5 Stelts and doesn't want it mixed with anything else. Sounds like a good strategy.
But as fer me
I knowed that tramp cinderella wert no good but she jus look so perdy i jus hav to lol

It sounds to me like in continuing his breeding program he's accepting open pollinated pumpkins from strangers......at least thats what it says.

I'm curious, was planning to make that cross myself this season. If you'll send me some - we can get F2's one year faster.. I'm good with chi squares - are you good at stats?

And I'm always interested in highly inbred lines as well.

Where do I send a SASBE?

I don't care for cheese squares and I'm not good with stamps but I've been pollinating highly inbred lines here in the South, for years...

We've got a couple of highly inbred people here in the backwoods. I'd be happy to stuff 'em in a box and send them to you!
