“Two Great Clubs - One Great Seminar”

For those Westerners who can’t travel to Niagra, fear not. The Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers and the Pacific Northwest Giant Pumpkin Growers have joined together to sponsor a Spring Seminar in Clackamas, OR, near Portland. At this time events scheduled include talks by Ron Wallace and Joe Jutras as well as an “Ask the Expert” question and answer session. There will be a raffle, plenty of door prizes and a seed exchange. The two clubs will also have important but brief business meetings for those interested.

The event begins with dinner on Friday March 23 and the main seminar is Saturday the 24th.

NON MEMBERS ARE WELCOME and can receive a registration form from Jim at [email protected] or Lee at [email protected]

Deadline for registration is March 15th.

Great news of nice things to come! Our small local group of a dozen or so growers has just completed a three evening dinner meeting seminar series. Subject content included: The first thirty days, How to get a solid good start and The Rest of the Season.

This year we will be starting new growers including two families home schooling their kids. Man and wife farm teams and other independant adults. Turns out we have four sources of cow manure within the group. We certainly did recieve the promise of sharing help, seeds and poopers.

Our hats off to you folks for putting something together for the Portland Oregon area. I will be in your area the first week of June. Maybe I will be able to find some of you. I would consider hosting a Portland coffee mess for a couple of you if that would be of interest. Bet we could get more done than is presently going on in our District of Columbia baloney machine. :)
