Bill greer is one of four being inducted into the gpc hall of fame at the March seminarin Niagara Falls. Bill was a great gentleman and one of canadas finest growers.
Also being honored that day New Hampshires own Jim Kuhn,The first lady of giant pumpkins Geneva Emmons and lasT but certainly not least another canadian pioneer, George Lloyd.

To clarify, I have received word from a Canadian pumpkin historian.
Steve Hoult 1995 the first unofficial 1000+ pumpkin uow and dmg.
Bill Greer, first official 10000+ pumpkin 1996.
In the early 1990's Harold Baird had 3,300 lbs of fruit on one plant.
Just a little history.
