has anyone that has switched to the 'NEW' at&t /yahoo/sbcglobal.net has had any problems with email going to spam.
I recently switched to the newer version of the sbc/yahoo/at&t email program and have found about 30 emails in my spam folder that shouldnt be in there. So if you emailed me and I havnt replied it isnt because I dont love ya , because I do.,,,,,, I mean that,,,,,,,,really....

You might need to "train" your new service by adding the affected parties to your "safe sender" list.

If you're talking about the new Yahoo Mail Beta, I've been using it for the last six months or so. It does a good job, IMHO, on SPAM. Every so often as you clear out the SPAM folder, visually scan the sender/subject to make sure something didn't get wrongly placed there. Then as Tremor said, build up your safe sender list.

Cliff, Tremor, yea the mail Beta, I like it 10 times better then the old version but in the old version once someone is added to my list of Mail buddies it never went to spam. Now on the beta version it did, even my servers yahoo weather went to spam and its part of my browser. Im thinking about just re downloading it to see if this gets this minor glitch out. Thanks for the help.
Yea John, I love the hell out of you guys, really I do,,well sometimes I do but not all the times I mean ,,,,,,

This is why I never started using any of the webmail servcies. I've always been very happy with using Microsoft Outlook 2003 which came bundled with XP Home & XP Pro. I have several other email accounts that are set up on various webmail servers. They all seem to lack the powerful features found in Outlook.

Tremor, I second that using Outlook 2003 solved all my many years of mail problems using other mail services. I was worried at first to switch to outlook, due to myself not being real computer savy at the time, but I have discovered outlook is pretty user friendly and simple to use, and much more reliable than most second party mail programs with way more convient options. It is always nice to have a hotmail account set up though, just in case your main account goes down due to a computer crash or service cancelation, that way you can check your mail from anywhere anyway and not leave poeple hanging

Cliff, I cant seem to re-download the Beta, I can switch back to the old version of yahoo mail by just clicking go back to old version but when I click back to the all new beta it just switches back to it with out re downloading it. Will I have to re-download my entire soft ware from my server to redownload the Beta, I really dont want to have to go that route if I dont have to.
Tremor,400, I tried outlook before but just didnt get the hang of it,I never cared for it probably because I never took the time to learn something eles new. You know how people are they hate change,LOL. It took me a long time just to switch to the AT&T/Yahoo Beta version, Only reason I did that is because it kept coming up in my older version to download day after day so I thought Id better download it because this is what they are going to be going to in the future.

Brooks,
I would just give Beta a little more time. For some reason the "safelist" hadn't become updated immediately... but I think it will. Mine is working great, and like I say, I've been using it for at least 6 months. Good luck!
For me, webmail is essential so I can check it from home, work, or when traveling.

400SF - My cable provider also has webmail where I can snag emails from someone else's computer if I'm traveling without my laptop. You can also change the proxy settings but I don't bother. Webmail is OK in a pinch. I just wouldn't use it every day.
I also still have yahoo & hotmail accounts so I can log onto certain websites (LA Times, WSJ, etc). This keeps the spam off my primary mail account. Believe it or not I get about 1100 peices of junk mail every week in my Yahoo mail acct. LOL. Dumb spammers. Do they really believe that people read that garbage? My primary account gets ZERO!
