Went to the NEPGA Winter dinner in Barre, MA on 1/21. It was great to "talk pumpkins" with everyone. Steve Connolly gave a slide show of his growing of the 1009. This dinner is always a great midwinter pick-me-up! Paula P.S. Good to see John & Ken from this site there, too!!!

Oh how I wish we could have Snow in Southern California. Temperature will be above 70 deg to day. I have two choices to-day. Start working my back yard or Start working my Back yard, I had two trees removed from my yard to make way for a new patch. Going to dig holes for my mulch pile and hills. Will have room for four hills this year.
Sure wish I lived in a cold area, that way I could just lay around and wait for spring. By july the temperature will be above 90 deg and I will just have to lay around and drink a little beer

Water, You don't understand. We have to shovel snow, scrape it off our cars and drive 10-20 mph slower when its falling. I don't get to lay around at all,if I do I'll freeze. Its been snowy so long I forgot what the ground looks like.

Diddo!! Snow snow snow....that is all there is this time of year.....and ice storms, we just recently had a ice storm...that was fun driving. I would take 70 degree temps over this cold crap any day!! I have a lot of stuff to do on my new patch before planting so I hope this snow melts in march at the latest. Roads were finally clear today...now it is snowing again!
School isn't fun either...summer there is no school.
I am so bored that I germinated a seed from my 627.5 lber. Nice seedling.....the stem got 6 inches in length.....big cotyledons...just transplanted it into a ice cream pale...what the heck am i going to do with it????

Sorry Guys did not mean to upset youse. It has been 36 years since I left the eastern side of USA (BROOKLYN N.Y.) I kind of forgotten what you have to do in the winter,
Got the rototeller out and had to give it two pulls before it puffed and started. Then started a two inch deep run to remove all the weeds and grass. (weeds grow all year long here) Cleaned an area about 50 X 60 feet. Going to hurt in the morning

Whoa, yellow snow is a beautiful thing, I just spent the last four weekends "turd huntin" cleaning out barns, corrals, and horse stables got me a couple of nice ice cream piles cooling off for spring rototilling. Theres nothing like winter in the frozen great North West!!!
