did some reading..says that pumkins, squash do ok applying unfinished compost..pros and cons?

Last March I attended the OVGPG growers seminar which featured Dr. Olaf K. Ribeiro a renown plant patholigist. Dr. Ribeiro strongly warned growers to avoid using unfinished compost. The big problem with it is that it can promote soil diseases.

Like everything, it depends...
But if it's unfinished manure, the answer is no, no, and NO! I don't know about diseases, but the plant won't grow.
