Three meetings are set up: Jan 11, Jan. 31, Feb. 8th. and Feb. 15th. as a snow make up date. The programs will walk the first year grower and the more experienced grower too, through the step, by step growing, of a giant pumpkin. There will be hand outs and demonstrations leading, to a great 2007 begining. All attendees will get at least one World Class Seed to grow and several for potting or germination practice.
Meetings will be at Denny's, Williamsport, Pa., 7 PM each evening. RSVP would be appreciated. We encourage and collect the voluntary $20.00 State and Local Dues.

We lost the name and address of a young man from Liberty, Pa. who grew last year and went to the weigh off. Check in please so we can get you back on the Email listing.

Just 3 meetings? Back in the early 1980's I ran 3 meetings a day 20 miles apart and three times in the season to get this thing off the ground in our area. Had fun doing it. No books back then, no DVD's and no dues. Of course a 500 lb pumpkin had yet to be grown in the US. Good luck. Ray

i have only been here for 5 years, but i agree with ray and dave, if you are gonna be critical, then at least say who you are. critic is not bad, it is what we all look for to improve, but a critic that hides behind a post helps no one.

This is amazing. Ray we have folks driving sixty miles for our quality rated training sessions. We have first year teenagers busting 500 lbs. with our help. We have one adult who broke 1000 his first year with an 845 backup. We tell them where and they will come.

Doc,
I'm all for you. I'm glad for you. I'm just saying that 20+ years ago I was doing the same thing (only 3 meetings a day in different locations and 3 times in the growing season in WNY) with not much help or information and a 500 lber wasn't even grown yet in the USA. I had to go to them as I did a lot of people. I wished you good luck and I meant it. We had a teen back then - Alan Nesbitt who did well his first year also. I remember a 95 year old grower from Ohio. I wish I could come. God bless you. I know the effort. Ray Waterman

well i have to through in my two cents, first thanks ray for clearing up this almost mess.. we as a growers club charge 20.00.. 15.00 to support our state club p.g.p.g.a. and 5.00 to support our mailings... you know stamps and envelopes..doc gipe sends out quite a bit of mail during the growing season right to the end..he spends a lot of time" personal" to do this, hats off doc

In my not so humble opinion.
Ray Waterman helped make this "sport" what it is today. Dwaine's helping to take it to the next level. It's all good.
All good stewards of the brotherhood. We just need a real winter followed by an early & warm spring. LOL
