The Western Edition the 2007 Old Farmer's Almanac has a nice 5 page article about Atlantic Giant pumpkin carver Mike Valladao (aka "Farmer Mike").
The article has 5 color photos of AG's that he has carved. It also tells how he got started, what tools he uses and gives tips on carving AG's.
Farmer Mike lives in San Jose, CA and is the official pumpkin carver for the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival.
Here's a link to a nice pumpkin that he carved at the Borchard Weigh-Off this year.

The edition on sale at newstands around here has the same article. It is a good read with great images.
