Yep, Sat-Monday we were in the 70's! I got the gardening itch - (and my RA is in full remission! Feel like my 'ol HYPER self again!!!) Ended up eyeballing my front garden beds..

Two days later - the paths went from 2' wide - to over 4' wide. Perfectly leveled, and coated with a frest coat of shavings. The soil removed from the edges of the beds - went to create very raised beds. That big pile of rock - which I had had dumped here and have been SLOWLY working on for years.. Is now GONE.. And ALL the beds are properly edged in stone **grin**

Ended up purchasing over 30 shrubs at 75% off at Lowes on Sat. Now I've got hedges and plantings EVERYWHERE. Even put a row in front of my front Pumpkin patch! Pretty little 'xmas trees'....

PS. Made sure that particular row of Xmas trees - were dwarf spruce that only hit 5' in mature height. They'll be great at screening the view of the 'kins from the road - but still letting the 'kins get their sun!

Tues & Wed - it's in the 50's now. Still partly cloudy. Wonderful for further gardening!

When I went to the lumbermill to pick up a load of shavings for my wider paths, ended up meeting an employee who was cleaning up the 'weathered waste sawdust'. He had the big backhoe, and was scooping it up into a large dump-bed truck. After some discussion (about my future need for aged sawdust as a mulch under my 'kins) I've ended up procuring an endless supply of aged sawdust!

Yep, just $20 for delivery! Each truckload of his, equals 5-6 loads in my truck. And I don't have to shovel out his truck! WOOPIE! Truly the luck of the Irish! He's already brought out two loads. It's great for their lumber plant - since they've been piling this stuff on the hill for YEARS. And good for the environment, since it's now being recycled.

And (of course) good for the 'kin research - since I can use the money that would've been spent on obtaining mulch - on other necessary things. Microbes, soaker hoses, tarps, etc...

Looking to the future....

Granted, all this beautiful weather is coming to an end. Forecast looks gloomy, rainy, steadily colder - and POSSIBLE white stuff for christmas....

Maybe I've worked off enough weight - so that my clothes will still fit AFTER the holiday feasts?? Of course, we'll be bringing Squash casserole and pumpkin pies to each feast!
