I myself get a little depressed after the growing season is over normally last until the niagara falls patch tour and seminar..lol.
Could this explain some of the post and infighting amongst growers..Could some of the growers suffer from PSD. I'm thinking maybe we need a support group or maybe interventions. I think if a grower admitts to his or her self that they have PSD they are on there first step to recovery... mark(LOL)

I must admit I was burnt out by Mid September. After my weigh off I went on a bit of a lazy binge that lasted about 5 or 6 weeks. Split fruit has a way of getting into your head. I used to hate winter but the past few years it has been the fall that drives me nuts.

Let downs in life are normal as long as they don't continually happen for extended periods. I believe it is healthy from time to time to take a break and snooze for awhile. I still kept up with my reading and research so it wasn't so bad. However my patch prep and yard work suffered somewhat this fall.

Yo Mark, Wiz Rapids.....Sweeeeet,
I have seen PSD advertised on the TV,,,,there is medicine available but there are side effects....Im sure Dr Brooks can elaborate....Something about premature seed evacuation, bleeding from the bloosom end, and weight gain due to water retention, Im thinking its in use and on the foliar spray regiment in RI......seen it in one of those UnKnown growers shots......lol

What do you mean, By the way I read this, your talking about me, How could you use that tone of voice, man I can hear you clear across the prairies, Now lighten up, I think I've had it with you and your Sarcasism. I'm leaving this site and I'm going to start watching something on TV, like days of our lives, and I'm going to start growing Elephant Garlic.

I think we have a chemical dependency. I spray a mix of
Triazicide, Daconil, and seaweed around the house once a week seems to help. Norm G

Cutting , splitting and stacking wood will take your mind somewhat off pumpkins !

Cutting, splitting and stacking wood will help the boredom of not getting some dirt on yer hands and growing em..plus make you strong. I had to remove six big stumps near one of my patches without the ability of a backhoe or stumppgrinder.Had to use just a chainsaw, shovel, pick and back to get those burgers outta there. Two down and four to go..woo.hoo......DOH!

Norm on Don Young's advice I mixed a batch of tea,,added some fish and kelp and dabbed it on,,,apparently Don's wife is a grower and likes it,,

Yes Jason, Northman , Hitting things with stick with a sharp object on it has been proven to help with PSD, There has been no proven evidence that taken chemicals such as compost tea, fish, kelp, will help persons suffering PSD..A pumpkin wench may work more studies have to be done this aproach...mark ..lol

I've found the CURE!

Take one large roll of hay, One large Red Tarp, Three teens and Two 2nd graders, 12 cans of orange spray paint - and just one hour.

Wal-la - A 1200 pounder will sit in your front yard for the rest of the winter!

I thought so, Mark is so mean, I'm at a loss for words, I keep having these sleepless nights, my doctor wants to put me on Ridlin, Tried that before, didn't work. didn't know I was to take one a day, took the whole bottle, tried to climb into a bird house, wanted to phone G, couldn't find his number. it was a bad 4 hours.
See what you started Mark.
May the fleas of a 1000 camels infest your arm pits.

We should foster tea experiments using single element ferts as in 0-0-50. First the inert elements must be identified or removed. Then we super saturate oxygen into water and dump in the 50 being careful not to burn off a hand or two in the process. As the value of the 50 increasses several thousand fold we will be able to say it was inhanced organically with oxygen and submit it for OMRI approvial.

..........Having done this wonderful service we may come to realize this environmental relationship with the 50 is putting mankind and all living things to their knees while gasping for air and swallowing worms to clean the innards. We could for a goodly long time at least claim it was not the 50 at all but inert unknown other stuff in the mix that causes the problems. We could also raise and sell small worms. Large night walkers might be repulsive.

.....All we would need would be a committee charged with proper decisions that agree with the community or individuals making the grant. Then I guess we would have to show the facts that the company backing the grant was the money source. Ah...that's how it's done. The outcome will surely be gospel.

......Now what is the PSD thing? That must apply somewhere.
