Okay, I have to admit it, Pap so far has the winning tune. How's about we have a contest? Prizes for the Worst, the Best, etc. . . pumpkin related tune (set to the tune of some well known Christmas Carol). I already have a "Wallace grab bag" for a prize lined up and I'll see what else I can do. Post your entries at this post. I will line up 3 completely, totally and thoroughly upright and honest impartial judges from BP.com (hee hee).

To the tune of "Let It Snow"... Let It Grow Now the weather outside is frightful, But the Spring will be delightful, With growing tips from Pap, Ron and Joe, Let It Grow! Let It Grow! Let It Grow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping, Fed with worm castings and rabbit droppings, I hope this monster doesn't blow, Let It Grow! Let It Grow! Let It Grow!
How will I get it to the site, This trailer won't hold the load! Something doesn't look right, Broke an axle coming down the road!
Now the vines are slowly drying, The season's over and I'm sighing, But as long as I can work a hoe, Let It Grow! Let It Grow! Let It Grow!

"It came upon a Midnight Clear" Mercy Me/ The chrismas season
It came upon a Midday clear, That glorious seed of old, from growers bending near the Earth To touch the jackets of Orange: Good growth on earth good seed to men From Pap all Gracious King, His seed are in great demand To all who want to grow
Still through the cold ground they grow with little leafs uncurled as still the precious plant it grows it gets bad and some pain! They bend on gusty winds and oh the cracking sound is bad But sill its hanging on For lo, the days of harvest are near You try to keep the it sound and hopeing is still on the grow The plants are barley hanging on By some good growers of old The time shall come when weights are told and we see what all have grown The Bull S@#$ stops when the tail gate drops, And we crown a New King!

"Dashing all the way"
Dashing through the patch, In a hot dry summer’s eve. Over the fence I go, Cursing all the way.
Seen something in there lurking, Gets my blood rate perking. With my shoot gun in my hand I aim to take the shot.
OHHHHHHHH…………..Holy cow, Gun powder smell, The critter jumped real high. Blasted it at the top I thought, But no prize for me to claim.
HEY,
Looked around, Everywhere, Still nothing to be seen. Then movement out of the corner of my eye Then saw my pumpkin droop.
Poop!

Ron Wallace The Famous Grower....!
You know Gary Burke and Gerry Checkon and Dave Stelts and Geneva Emmons Charlie Houghton and Steve Daletas and Al Eaton and Larry Checkon But do we recall. The most famous grower of 2006.
Ron Wallace The Famous Grower and if you ever met him you would be very proud to meet him
All of the other growers used to beat him at every weight off They never let poor Ron win a single weight off
Then one very diffrent day Ron Wallaces Giant went on the scale and the scale read 1502
Then all the growers loved him when they shouted out yahooooo "Ron Wallace the Famous Grower You`ll go down in History!"

To The Tune of "O HOLY NIGHT"
O' Holy patch, the sun is gently shining , it is the time for our gardens to grow.
Please little seed, sprout and gently grow, it is the time for our plants to ignite.
With Ron and Dick, they'll grow so big and heavy, With sun and light, we might grow one like "Chevy".
Orange is the best, O' weigh them suckers easy,
O' scales, be nice, so we might, get one just right.....
O' Scales,,,,be nice, so we can win the prize, O' friends don't grow alone... We want to bring that jacket home!

To the tune of: When a child is born
The season is here The pumpkins are in, Hope they grow fast, and that they win Dreams of glory, Dreams of that glow Seed are gone, They better grow
Growing time, AG`s on the vine Pumpkins growing big and round With plants in the ground, With vines all around A time to dig out those weeds that we all see A time for growing ,A time for carving A time for displaying, Not measuring Hope its not a disaster, But be a laster Ours for the weighing , Just hope it’s a winner
Growing time, AG`s on the vine Pumpkins growing big and round With plants in the ground, With vines all around A time to dig out those weeds that we all see
Giant pumpkins, What a sight
There’s time for growing, A time for weighing A time for composting ,A time for tilling Season is here, Put down your beer A time for sowing and counting those pounds
Growing time, AG`s on the vine Pumpkins growing big and round With plants in the ground, With vines all around A time to dig out those weeds that we all see
Growing time, AG`s on the vine Pumpkins growing big and round With plants in the ground, With vines all around A time to dig out those weeds that we all see
Growing time, AG`s on the vine Pumpkins growing big and round With plants in the ground, With vines all around A time to dig out those weeds that we all see
Weighing time, Hope it’s a delight Holy sight, Children saying look at the beast With pounds on the scales its time to cash in that prize money

Grandma got run over by a pumpkin. Walking home on Halloween night. You can say there’s no such thing as Wallace, but ask me and I’ll tell you you’re not right.
She’d been sniffing too much kelp meal, and we begged her to stay home. but she insisted on going, and she staggered out the door into the loam.
When we found her the next morning, under Ron’s 1-5-0-2, She had vines around her forehead, and her hair was filled with mounds of pumpkin goo.
Now we’re all so proud of Grandpa, For still planning next year’s patch. Watch him out there in the garden, Dreaming about his next year’s weigh-off rematch.
It ain’t a weigh-off without her, All the family’s dressed in black. And we can’t help but wonder, Should we open up her seeds or send them back? Back? No way!
Now the pie is on the table, Made from Wallace’s big ‘kin, Surrounded by silver flatware, That would have matched the hair on Grandma’s chin.
I’ve warned all my friends and neighbors, Better watch out overhead, When Ron lifts up his pumpkin, Stay away or you will too soon be very dead.

To the tune of “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.”
The pumpkin grows, are you taping? Across the world, growers are waiting It could be a record, A most massive gourd. Walking through a perfect pumpkin patch.
Leaves are green, plant is healthy Seaweed sprayed to keep them happy. The sun shines today, The PM’s at bay, Walking through a perfect pumpkin patch.
Tomorrow is the day we bring the truck in, Cut the vine and haul the fruit to town, One more restless night, But it’s all worth it, Just as long as the massive fruit doesn’t go down. Help arrives, a lifting ring As we plan to lift the thing Get it in the air, No splits under there, Walking through a perfect pumpkin patch.
At the weigh-off everybody’s watching, As my fruit gets lifted by the team, Butterflies in my stomach as I’m waiting, Holding a new World Record is my dream
The numbers come up, the bugger went light! No complaints from me, I’m all-right! A personal best here, I’ll be back next year, Walking through a perfect pumpkin patch.

Jingle Bells
I heard a sound An awful sound I think I heard it split
I looked around But none were found I hope that wasn't it!
I've worked so hard In this great yard To see the season end
And then I see Right there next to me The blossom end had split!
In a conference, maybe I can come up with another.

This one is from Neal Leland
to the tune of "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."
Oh the smell outside is frightful, But manure is so delightful, And since we've no place to go, Let 'em grow! Let 'em grow! Let grow!
I've done lots of cover-croppin', I sure hope those fruits aren't poppin', This sport sure takes lots of dough, Let 'em grow! Let 'em grow! Let grow!
If a vine starts to getting' tight, Or cuke beattles start to swarm, The stress keeps me up all night, Until I kill bugs in due form!
Some plants are slowly dying, And split fruits leave me crying, But if I have a good vine or so, Let 'em grow! Let 'em grow! Let grow!

T'was the Night Befire the Big Weighoff
T'was the night before the big weighoff and all through the house, all the lifters were arguing, but not with their spouse. "You should lift it up high, you should lift it like this." ...but I say "It is MY pumpkin and you will lift it as I wish". The pumpkin was hung from the scaffold with care, in hopes that the trailer would somehow fit underneath there. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I craned back my neck to see what was the matter. The glare of my brakelights off the 1068's glow, gave a vision of midday to the trailer below. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a two ton wench and eight tiny lifteers. More rapid than 40 pound growth days the wench did unscrew and he whistled and shouted and told them what to do. Now Ed, Now Jim, Now Grandpa and Owen. On Kyle, On Chris, On Tracey and You! So over to the 805 Pukos with the scaffold they flew, a trailer full of hope and a pumpkin grower too. He was dressed in a sweatshirt from his head to his waist, and he was covered with mud from the patch he'd watered in haste. A bundle of 805 flung over the rack, he looked like a heavy hitter unloading his pack. He spoke not a word but went straight to his work. He emptied the lifter and turned with a jerk. And laying a finger aside of his nose...and giving a nod as he clamped down the last hose. But I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight, "Good luck at the weighoff and to all a good night!"

GREAT TUNES!!! The competition here is Fierce and I'd really like to win this prize. I am going to go ABOVE AND BEYOND to win this, but really, it will be the members here that take me up on this offer who will pay the greater sacrifice.
My three year old daughter "Dah Bugg" and I, have sat down, with her direction of course, and wrote a little ChristMas diddy for the members here at Bigpumpkins who celebrate this Glorious Holiday. To Help get our Friends ring in the Holiday Spirit!!!! Dah Bugg has instructed that I must call any member who wishes me to, and sing this Carol to them over the phone. "I'm sure you poor judges had no idea what you were getting into when you signed up for this." Members must contact me via PM with phone number and time to call EST for caroling request. Call offer good only to members who reside in the United States and/or Canada. WARNING: BE PREPARED TO COVER THE DOGS EARS if you reallly want to hear this! disclaimer: The internet entity "Greenhousin" assumes no responsibility for hearing loss and or glass breakage as a result of such contact. Furthermore, I will assume no responsibility for anything what so ever, yadda, yadda, yadda .
Call request can be made to [email protected] please do not forget to indicate prefered time to call EST. Offer good through contest ending time. :D

My entry is:
"SANTA'S GROWIN' PUMPKINS"
Stay up late kids, don't go to bed, the Big Red Man, just sold his sled.
The news came in We just heard today the polar cap is gone, and the snows melting away.
He traded his deer for some shovels and some hoe's, now all he needs, is some real good seeds.
"SANTAS GROWIN' PUMPKINS"
He's going to start early, big greenhouses and all, just Santa and his elves, having a ball.
Mrs. Clause won't need to worry, about keeping him fat. Staying cool in the garden, will do all of that.
No more dark nights way up in the sky, just beautiful sunny days 'cause Santa said goodbye.
He'll keep the plants pruned and bury vines with ease, Imagine the Fat Red Man with two black knees.
"SANTAS GROWING PUMPKINS"
He says his pumpkins will be huge bigger than all the rest, he'll feed them lots of reindeer manure and put them to the test.
We do wish him well for his legends were swell, And all the best luck while he's playing in the muck.
My sister's and I aren't going to worry, My sister's and I aren't going to be mad.
We always get a sh** load of presents from our MOM and DAD.
