Hi
Just pollinated some females. If they are green when they reach soccerball size are they squash or pumpkins?
Looks like I have some fun ahead.

Got the seed from you americans . Four plants, 2 are pumpkins though and are looking great. Whats the worl record squash weight?

Well,the world record squash weight is 990lbs....It sounds like a squash but not all are heavy...which seed gave you the squash? They likely came in a packet with a size/name...by researching the heritage we can say for sure....email me private if you like.....Glenn

most squash i've seen have gone heavy....they are usually thicker than pumpkins, aren't they? I still would like to think sqash go heavy....ya, what did it say on the packet?

Packet said from pumpkin 600 - 800lb. I will keep it going and see what it results in. I willdonate all the seeds to this site if you like (pending quarantine from Australia)

Ok...so it looks like a P+P or Dill packet of seeds...won't be able to check parentage though.(this would help eliminate squash potential for the squash paranoid).Hey,squash happens!Never seen one change back at that size so get used to it.They are lovely exhibition fruit,great carvers,and BETTER EATING than pumpkins.They tend to go a bit heavier than the charts but by no means always.The 1998GPC winner684Troy was-6.4%,900.8Lyons* was -5%.....Glenn A
