A friend that mixes soils for growing grass on golf courses and other uses has offered to mix a soil for growing Atlantic Giants. I am posting to get some opinions on the ideal ingredients and percentages. Thanks in advance for your input.:-)

Very interested. Soil is a major part of my career & hobby. Spec'ing the physical, chemical & maybe even biological properties is easy enough.
The only problem I have is transportation costs & the variable nature of source ingredients.

Start with lots of organic matter... From different sources: Animal waste Composts, Leaf Composts, etc...Depending on if the 'starting soil' texture was clay or loam - or the perfect mix inbetween - Is which type of organic matter you would add more of..

Bio Mass (cover crops) + compost & Manure wintered over + fall hand tilled (or CC cultivator) = a good start for 2007
