About 10 days ago, I pulled a couple of my A.G. plants up by the roots. One set of vines I left lay in a pile in the garden. As I was pulling the vines out of the garden, I noticed that there were several, what appeared to be, recently pollinated fruit, a couple of the females appeared to have opened today. One fruit might have put on about 5 lbs. since I pulled the vines. Many of the leaves still looked green and relatively healthy.
This gets me thinking.......I wonder if uprooting an A.G. plant about 7-10 days before a weighoff would result in a push of reserve energy/food into the fruit. Of course this could be risky(might cause splits). I wouldn't try it on a fruit that is still gaining on the OTT measurements. But maybe on a fruit that has appeared to stop growing. Just something to think about. If someone tries this, I declare myself non-responsible for any negative consequences.

I recently pulled up a ten foot vine that had roots all the way across. I layed it up against the fence with roots exposed out of the dirt and a few days later the dang thing was sprouting leaves and new growth even though it had been totally pulled from the ground! Shows how much energy is in those buggers even when they're cut off from the supply!
