My largest pumpkin hasn't grown in a couple of days, maybe possibly a quarter to a half of an inch, if I measured correctly. Is this it? Is it going to be done pretty quick, & shouldn't expect anymore growth??

I measured my sole pumpkin recently(two of the three measurements), and in three days it didn't seem to grow any. I measure two days later, and found that is averaged 4 lbs./day, for a 5 day period. Either I mismeasured that one day, or my pumpkin put on 20 lbs. in 2 days. How old is your pumpkin? Mine hit day 60 on my last measurement.

Mine will hit the 60 day mark on the 5th (2 days). I was also wondering, if it stops growing after a weeks time, should I leave it on the vine a bit longer, and take the sheets off for it to ripen a bit darker before I cut it? I have another one growing, and is over 100 lbs now that was pollinated mid last month, & I was wondering if it was safe to wait a bit so I can weigh them at the same time, or if I will be stuck making 2 trips anyway.

I think they darken quicker when cut off the vine, I would leave them on if possible
