Okay, I'm feeling really whiney. I've posted a picture in my diary (third to last entry I think) of what my plants are starting to do. I know you pumpkin experts out there have seen this a million times.. . So, please, once again. . HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!

My humble opinion...a Nutrient deficiency. If you have allot of wood matter i.e. sawdust/woodchips in your soil this will definitely 'tie up' your nitrogen even if you've put lots in. I'd drench with a nitrogen fert and a mirco nutrient blend.

Erin,

That image only shows a few leaves in their entirety & not the whole vine.

The newer leaf (to the left) looks healthy (if smaller). Does this condition begin on the oldest leaves first?

Leaf veins are also yellowed...lots of little white dots sitting on the wood chips? Is that a granular fert? something is tying up the nutrients...or sucking the life out of the vascular system? to green em up I like both preceding ideas...I might even kick in some iron...but tough to tell without more info. If all patches were treated exactly the same and one is still doing good then I would look at some sort of infestation.

You wish Matt! As far as the little white dots, they're just Osmocote, a slow release fertilizer. It's the only thing I've added to the soil besides gypsum a long time ago. The wood chips were in the sheep manure which I didn't notice until it was already in the patch. Steve, it hasn't affected some of the oldest leaves back by the stump. Has shown up on the newer leaves and gets worse. Shannon, what do you mean, "Epsom salts" you want me to add magnesium?

a tissue test will answer all your questions . no guess work.
it takes a couple weeks to get the test back but at least you would know for sure.
you could be causing more harm if you add something not required.

we had a simular problem to the one described here on one plant earlier. it proved out to be a mangeneze deficiency.

anything is possible when dealing with pumpkin plants. they are vicious feeders.
