I am wondering if my cool overnight temps are slowing the growth on my recent pollinations. Temps are in the high 70's, low 80's everyday but temps fall to the high 40's, low 50's at night. We rarely get into warm/hot nights untill late July and early August here. Good "sleepin" weather,,,,,,but,,,,,,, I have already culled one fruit that was @16" on day 10,,I have a couple more coming up that look in the same range on 2 different plants, all of these were set in the 10'-13' range on the mains. I have successful sets farther out on vines, I'm thinking I should hold back on culling untill day 20 and see what the measurements are at that time. Would covering the small infants help? Would applying a sourch of warmth at night help? i.e. warm water bottle under that cover ( the reverse of using ice in the heat) Anyone with thoughts or experience with this out there please share ideas here or in email.
Thanks, Dan

I have been having the same problem lately. Mostly 50's for lows. Should be near 70's for lows this time of year. Covering my pumpkin with a blanket helped the growth. The last two nights I was sick and did not cover and my growth went back down. Even though I don't have the energy, I'm going to cover all the pumpkins tonight. The things you do for these giant veggies sometimes..... lol
