I seem to have leaves near the stump turning brown or yellow near the edges, then getting worse throughout the whole leaf to the point where they become totally dried out and dead (on both of my plants!). I thought it was just some old leaves, but it almost seems to be spreading from leaf to leaf. any thoughts? thanks!

For those following Pete's saga:

We had him shake a leaf over a white sheet of paper looking for Spider Mites. It sounds like that is what Pete found.

Floramite, Avid or even Warrior/Scimitar should take care of Mites.

Talsatr does too but the rate has to be increased dramatically to .4 oz per gallon.

I just submitted 3 pictures to the photo gallery. (they should be posted soon) i'll post the link when the are up.
They are of a disease that attacks my plants every year. The pictures are from 2004. I had a local extention service guy here tell me that he thought it was spider mites. but he recommend some kind of soap... it didn't seem to help any. He tried to show me a mite on the leaf I took to him... but I couldn't ever see it.
So I am very curious to know if my pictures look like what Pete has now.

Well, I sprayed with Ortho-max (bifenthrin) and I'm hoping for the best! Thanks for the help.
