I have a problem this year with milfoil in the pond. what do you think of using it for mulch around the pumpkin plants

I have used milfoil. A local farmer gave me a trailer load.
Another green I like is watercress. By ripping out the older heavy stuff the tender new growth maintains salad quality longer.
