I hope that someone can give me some good word regarding hail damage. We had a storm go through Monday night and when I checked this morning, there was a lot of leave damage. I also saw damage on some of the leave stems but did not see any on the main vines. How much damage is to much in ragards to effecting the growth of the plants.

Went thru major...baseball size...hail storm here, 2 weeks or so ago, and other than a few big holes in the leaves....it looks normal and healthy here!!! Give it some time, and hopefully, it will be okay in Creston!!! Peace, Wayne

My 1248 got hit with hail about this time last year. Plants didn't look pretty but they will rebound.

As long as the Main Vine is intact it will recover. We got nailed twice last year. The plants where the main was dinged up pretty bad suffered.

Forcast for Nothern IL. tomorrow scattered, strong storms, some with LARGE HAIL! Warning IL growers! Yeah, leaves look bad after hail and plant gets stressed. Again, from someone who 'just heard' about hail damage from a lab, you might want to foliar with a compost tea, (or a biology product), fish, etc... to reduce stress.

My first year I went over 1000# it was with a 1230 D plant and I was hailedon twice...once early around the 2nd week of june and again about 4 weeks later....holes punched thru the mains in 2 places and some pretty major damage thru out th eplant....bottom line is these things will never cease to amazed us growers....hang in there and don;t give it...you could be surprised!
