We are starting some regular jack-o-lantern type pumpkins. What is the spacing between plants?

We space every 4 feet on 8 foot rows. It really depends on what you are planting.. Bush, Semi Vining, or Vining. Then size of the pumpkin.

We are planting: blue hubb, red warty things, red warty things that have been crossed with an AG, one to many, big max, french, blue skin, and howden. They are in a different patch than our AGs. I know it is a bit crazy to start them so late but it is all too much fun. I'm pretty new to these types and if you could help on spacing that would be great. I'm not sure if they are semi vining, vining or bush. I have grown the Howden and the French before and would think the RWT-Ag would grow big as well as the big max. I'm not at all sure on the one to many, the blue skin, or the blue hubb. Thanks for the help!

I place Howden and Howden Biggie at 3-1/2 feet on 9 ffot rows. For My genetic field pumpkins I put them at every 10 feet on 9 foot rows. Some of the miniature pumpkins I place at a 2 foot spacing by 5 foot rows.
These spacings are done for the seeds since not all germinate the actual square footage per plant is larger. Occasionally I will go in and plant a few more seeds in the rows if a large percentage in the row does not grow.

For me it has to do with the width of my tiller more than anything. Tiller width is 34" that gives me 2 good runs in between the rows and one crosswise. The Red Warty Thing x AG will give you a bigger RWT close to 80lbs here last year. Most of what you are planting is 110-120 maturation period so Halloween will be cutting it close.

Thanks for the advice! I know it's late but I couldn't resist all those fun seeds all you great people sent me. Thanks!! I actually sprouted the seeds 2 and half weeks ago and have been moving them into bigger pots as needed. How big do the marrow plants get? Sounds like they don't like as much heat as the AG's.
