Has anyone else noticed Linus Van Pelt(Shannon)'s plight with the gophers? I am trying to remember the best way to get rid of gophers, but I cannot find my copy of Caddy Shack. I am sure the Bill Murray had a sure fire way to defeat the gophers.

Use the Black Box by Victor. I too was blighted by gophers and lost one "big" full plant to them. I have trapped/killed 5 so far this year. Usually overnight results. I set the trap in the afternoon. Find a fresh mound, dig back a foot or so, put the trap up snug to the hole, cover with an inch or so of soil leaving the "hole" uncovered and then put a tomato leaf or a piece of carrot at the hole to attract them with smell. In the morning usually got one. Never had any luck between 6am and 9pm, usually overnight so I am assuming 4 or 5 am. Easy peasy and works like a champ. You also KNOW they are dead and can't feed rather than hoping. Also trying urine as a repellent.

LOL...They have gone in to covert operation mode. They no longer pop their perky little heads up to see whats coming. They are moving out of the field to the fence rows with high grass. I will prevail....I have not yet brought out the rifle yet. New neighborhood...so I have to deal with the pellet gun. I have looked everywhere for the "Black Box". I may have to order some off the internet. G your squirrels look like rats to me..

Try Long's Drugs if you have them where you are. I have seen em at Ochard Supply Hardware, Long's Drugs and I think I saw it at Ace Hardware. Make sure it is the Black BOX as the black hole does not work well for gophers.

We tried the Propane Weed Burner in the hole the other night. Lets just say there was an exit hole 8-10 feet away. We cleared a little more fence row...followed up by a quick shoveling of dirt to put the dang fire out. I am pretty sure you could here gophers laughing in the background.
