Yes, PPD. It's starting already and it is not even Halloween yet!

Yes, you almost want a winter home in florida. The only thing to do know is to put leaves and cow dung on your patch for next year. Also try to obtain those hard to get seeds next for next season.

I think i have suffered the most PPD. I miss Iris so much after I sold her. What was i going to do with a 762 lb pumpkin? Iris is my wallpaper right now....coolest pumpkin ever, to me anyway...i don't care if i get a 1000lber, Iris was the best and will be forever. I am a very emotional person.......can't wait for next year though......

I hate this time of year when your insides feel all mushy (like some of my pumpkins!) Maybe the owners of this site can help us sufferers of PDD. With a "virtual" giant pumpkin growing link! We could choose from a list of virtual seeds, make several decisions about growing, fertilizing, etc, and see how we make out at end of the season! We could also fast forward a season into like, 30 days! Upon posting weights after weigh-off, the grower would have to distinguish whether it was real or virtual! What do you think guys? Have I hit on a way to warm up Winter?

Virtual pumpkins-now that's a thought. Right now, I'm suffering from separation anxiety. Maggie May just rode off in a big truck with a bunch of carvers on their way to Salem, MA. So, this is really the end for me. Paula

Sure glad to know that this is part of the growing process. I thought I was just wierd as this is my first year. "Switchedatbirth" was given to a family with 7 kids so I feel good about her ending, but gosh.

A pumpkin growing simulation eh? Sounds very cool, but we already have a programming list a mile long for this site! John and I work on the site in our "spare" time so we have to pick and choose what we do. I will add it to the list of ideas for battling PPD over the winter. Currently, we are getting ready for the 2000 seed distribution.

You mean you guys have "spare" time? Growing AGs is a 2nd full time job plus keeping up this site? Who would have time for anything else-your families must miss you. Let's hear it for the guys who have made it possible for us to support and encourage each other all year-Great job!!! Paula

What to do with a 600lb pumpkin? I took my 600 lb pumpkin and donated to the elem. school in my home town, if you ever want to make a bunch of kids happy, bring a pumpkin bigger then them to there school. first their was a contest on how heavy is the beast. second how many seeds are in the beast. their was prizes and free seeds to the kids. well tuesday two weeks later I went down to the school around 3:30 to carve a face in the pumpkin and pull the seeds out thinking no kids will be around when i wip out a 12" nife to do the carving. Well the pumpkin is in the lunch room with about 25 after school kids. Well they all helped make the face, OK now boys and girls please stand back! as I pull out the 12" nife to carve the face and let me tell you all they cared about was looking in the hole i made for the eye to see what was inside and to put their hands inside. See you kids next year.

Hello everyone, i think i also got ppd, actually i know i got it, as i still glance at the patch everyday, and all i see is dried up vines and nothing more, but their will always be next year, but whats gonna keep me buisy all winter?, well anyway i finally got my biggest pumpkin weighed (Duke) and he came in at a grand total of 345.lbs , not quite the estimated 392.lbs that it was thought to be, i guess it just got inaccurate trying to reach around that thing after a while.Im happy with it though as this was my first year growing AG pumpkins, Also keep up the good work of keeping the site up guys. ~Bill
