This is the first time I have ever grown pumpkins. My mother said to start now, which was about 10 days ago. They're doing great but did I plant the seeds too early?

I live in California. The weather has been anywhere from 70 to 80 degrees, so we are over the frost and cold weather.

You might be OK, but I'd start some more seeds in another two weeks or so, just in case. Most growers plant backups anyway. I will plant my first batch around 4/20 or so and some backups at the end of April.

Thank you for answering all my questions. This sure is a great website. I have checked out other sites and this is one that I have in my favorites.
