The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers would like to invite all giant pumpkin growers to attend a very informative seminar Saturday March 18 2006 from 1:00-5:00 pm EST
THe seminar will be located at Millcreek Metro Park (McMahon Hall) which is located 1 mile south of Canfield, OH on Rt. 46 across from the fairgrounds.
We are flying in a special speaker, Dr. Olaf K. Ribeiro (Ribeiro Plant Labs Inc.) from Bainbridge Island, Washington
Dr. Ribeiro will be speaking on "Soil Diseases and Other Plant Health Issues"
4 major soil diseases (symptoms, causes, cultural and chemical controls)
mycorrhizae
water sources
fumigation
drainage
organic matter
splitting of fruits
foliar diseases
OVGPG spray program (handout)
then we will be featuring some native Ohio Wisdom:
Jerry Rose will feature a Q and A session
followed by Craig Lembke, Joan Gibson discussing the Pumpkin Cruise, and a seed auction
There will also be an awards ceramony for last year's achieving growers.

there is a $5 admintance fee to help cover the cost of putting up such a top notch speaker

Boy would I love to be there.
My step-father's retirement party is that day so,I don't think I'll get to :(
I'm looking forward to having him retire,that means more help in the patch this year :)YEEEHAAA!!
