I was wondering how much mycorrhizaeis really needed when starting your plants? Say how much per 4 inch pot? Then if you put it at every leaf node when you bury vines how much is needed for that?

I hope this is clear if its not tell me and I will try to do a better job of asking the question.

Thanks,
Mikkal

I would think that you would follow the manufacturer's suggested dosage which is usually to dust the transplanted roots A 1.5 lb. jar will contain about 200 teaspoonfuls. So in the garden, work a half-teaspoon of inoculant into soil under larger seeds, such as pumpkins. Once it is established in a garden it will spread to other roots. I would believe that there are factors which will significantly slow the spread of the mycorrhizal fungi such as some insecticides and of course fungicides. There are other factors that could prevent the fungi from spreading, including high levels of phosphorus. I believe the high level of P above 140ppm will slow the fungi. There are several very fascinating threads to learn from here in BP. Just type in "mycorrhizal fungi" at the top of the page in the box where it says "site search". I hope that explained itwell enough. Good luck.
