I opened up one of my pumpkins today that had been outside all winter. This pumpkin seemed to have the most seeds out of all my pumpkins. I was wondering what might have caused this. The plant was grown under a oak tree so it was shaded and may have been exposed to tanic acid. Could these two facters have increased the nomber of seeds in the pumpkin. My other pumpkins were out in the open and were exposed to a lot of heat during the day but were SLIGHTLY shaded during the rest of the day. Those pumpkins didn't have much for seeds. So my question is what could have caused my one pumpkin to have more seeds then the rest.
Side note: my pumpkin from 04 was planted were the pumpkins with a low seed count were this year. The o4 pumpkin had quite a few seeds about 40% were imature though.

Cooler in the shade of that Oak would be my guess.
