Subject: growing big max in 5 gallon container?

i am new to growing pumpkins and i want to know is it possible to grow atleast 100 lb. or more big max in a 5 gallon container? bc i have currently got a big max in a 5 gallon container and it is about 3 inches high and about a week old. and it is already tring to grow other leaves. do you think that is a good size for it already?

I would not waste the effort in growing pumpkins in a five gallon container. Any pumpkin plant is a vining plant, which means that the like to spread out. Many pumpkin plants can have vines 15-20 feet in length or more. Might try raising something smaller in those containers....Tom

I grew big max last year in a five gallon pot. I let mine grow out of it and over the grass to vine. I also put a small amount of dirt over the leaf axis on the first five axis points to let it grow more roots. It was my first year and I got an 85 lb pumpkin. After words, just mow the grass and it's ok. Good luck
