What are these things. Google Images didn't help. If you know of a picture please let me know. My biggest over 400 lbs is sectioned off into 4 parts. A ring goes around the front, middle, back middle, and very back. Sorry don't have a picture. Thanks for the help!

could be considered an extreme case of one.
usually just a slight sag line at the surface, then inside a crack runs along that sag, creating weak points, especially at rib line intersections.

Check out Mike Frantz's latest diary entry of his new Iowa State Fair record. It has an obvious Dill ring, which made the pumpkin look more like a gigantic pear. It is amazing he got a pumpkin that big, seeing as how his area is in the middle of the worst drought in recorded history.
