Congratulations to David Iles of North Pole, Alaska for setting a new Alaska State Record at the Tanana Fair, in interior Alaska. Pumpkin weighed in at 752 lbs.

Hey JD,
This is Scott here in Palmer.
About what time of the day are you going to arrive at the fairgrounds? Sounds like you and Dave are peaking enough interest that sometime in the near futher we may have a Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off. Cash prizes and all!! The fair just needs sponsorship? Well what I meant to say is they would rather someone else comes up with the cash. Our giant vegetable weigh offs have produced numerous world records and has created an international buzz, a big draw. I would like to see the Alaska State Fair put more into the sport. You know, feed it and it will grow!! Anyhow good luck with the pumpkin and by the way Dave's pumpkin weighed 37% light according to the OTT table. He may have a big one!!
