When a pumpkin starts to turn orange and starts getting the rougher skin does that mean the growing days are numbered, or has fruit that is completly yellowish that turn full orange color still put on massive amounts of weight? Or lets say at day 40 on a pumpkin, it turns completly orange and has really rough skin can it still grow its full amount of days it suppose to? I have always wondered about this.

thanks Brooks

One of our area growers has one that turned full orange between baseball and basketball. He also has a little webbing. His fruit has been shaded since rising above the protection of the leaves.

its genetic, I have a line that turns orange by day 15. Which is good for selling even if they are immature.

Tom, what line turns orange at day 15? Is it AG?

I had one turn from yellow to a light orange almost overnight. In the last few days it has gotten considerably more orange and more cantalouped. I t hink it's just genetic like mentioned above.
