I just wonder if anyone could help me with some questions. I have pretty big pumpkin patch and I have some pumkins growing. First question is how many pumpkins will grow on a vine. 2 question some of my pumpkins are all ready turning orange is this ok...I wanted to keep them until Oct. 3 question a lot of the leaves are turing brown and falling off is this ok. If someone would take the time to answer I would appreicate it. Thank you

You can grow as many as you would like, normally one two at the most are grown, the less ya have the bigger they will be. You should put some kind of shade over your pkn so they dont ripen as fast.

Can you post a picture? There are all kinds of reasons to consider as to why leaves do what they do.

Tanny,
Were the pumpkins green before turning orange?
The old leaves that are dying probably have a fungus disease called Powdery Mildew. Is there a grayish white dust on the leaves?

Thanks everyone for helping me out. yes the leaves have a powder look to them, and they were green before they turned orange. I have one that is still really green but the other 2 are orange. It looks like a lot more leaves then there are pumpkins. How do you post a picture and where do you view other peoples pictures. Tammy

The main menu on the home page has a selection for Growers Diaries...there are a lot of photos and great info from numerous growers. Once there go to...post to own diary...click on browse...choose photo you want to enter...add text to entry and post entry. If this computer novice can get it done...then to most it should be real simple. There is also a random photo section on the main menu, but as it says they are random. I have found the diaries section to be very useful for a nu-B to learn from. Hope this makes sense and helps. Peace Wayne

Thanks peace wayne. I will try to go there and post some of my pictures and maybe someone could see what I'm talking about and help me out. I really have no clue at what I'm doing. I know the pumpkins I do have back there look pretty good. Thanks again
