victory to my buddy Tom. 1367.5 is beginning to develope three splits in the shoulders near the stem. Details, including pics, should be up in my diary in a bit. I'll try to hold it together, and hope for the best.

Thanks guys. I treated the wounds and am going to try to slow growth temporarily and see if they scar over. G sent me an email that pretty much says it all..."the fact that you have three smaller ones rather than one big one is a great thing."
I must admit, that was the first thing that went through my head when I saw them...LOL
I must also admit that it scared the crap outta me when I first saw them!
To quote Han Solo..."Ya hear me baby? Hold together!" Dang I'm glad your only a first year grower once...

OK, OK...Why doesn't somebody warn newbies of stuff like this???
Unfortunately, the problem I just discoverd with the 905 is more severe. I just dug under enough to try to see the stem and found a slimy goo dripping from underneath it. I can't see the problem so I dug deep enough to get the digital camera under there and get a few pics. There is definately a split there between two ribs, and is dripping a smelly goo. The pics are not suitable for posting, if I email them to someone, they will see why. They are very clear, but could be mistaken for something else...

Brooks said it - chicken scratches.
although we baby these things and don't want to see any damage at all, yours can ahndle that. if they all start going into the flesh deeper this week, there might be concern, but right now it's just "less pretty"

agree agree agree. Right now those little things are just stretch marks! Don't worry 'bout 'em! They'll heal up nice and ugly.

Monty........if your butt was growing that fast you would have some stress cracks too. :)) Dust them with fungicide or spray with AGRO-K Vigor Cal Phos at the rate of 1/4 ounce to a quart. I've done both to my satisfaction.

I sprayed them with Immunox, Doc. I don't use Agro-K.
Chuck, thanks. I checked it today (the 1367.5) and all is still well. The cracks seem to be holding their own. Haven't looked under the 905 today. I'll look under there tomorrow and see if it is still dripping.
