Is it true that you have to bury the whole vine or just at the points where the secondary roots come out. I mean does the vine between the leaves matter if there is soil on them?

If you drag a "V" hoe you can cover the whole vine in one easy stroke per foot or so of drag. Why even think of any other way that would be harder to do?
One of the advantages of full covering of the vine is to keep the SVB off the vine. We yeild a leaf stem here and there but the suckers don't go into what they can not find!

After the storm we just had, you'll know why its advantageous to bury vines. Guess what vines are tipped over? The unburied ones. Guess which ones are upright, happily enjoying the fresh rain? The buried ones.
