Can you guys tell me how often you calcium wrap and how long do you let the towels on the fruit? What part of the day? I thought over night but am not sure. I don't want to over do it or not enough. Thanks!

I'm not sure if enough work has been done on this technique I have left them on 24/7. Mixed in with 20z calci-max and 3 gallons of water.
I can't say for sure with 100% confidence that Ca laced towels work. I have had a couple of splitters with towels and also four fruit that went heavy...Its difficult to discern any potential pitfall or benefit.

Nutri-Cal at 1-3 oz per gallon in a bucket. Drop an old beach or bath towel or blanket into the bucket. Wrap & leave till dry. Reapply as often as you wish.
Lower rates for young fruit to avoid "little brown spots" that are ugly but harmless.

There is no doubt that wrapping or covering with wet towels will serve the purpose. I do question the absence of dry fresh air movement which would be eliminated while wet and covered.

Somewhere along about 4PM in the Northeast the internal flow of the pumpkin reverses from to the pumpkin, to, to the roots. This is the begining, of the best foliar feeding time time. The same reversal affects the fruit also. You can see your sweat beads go away between 4PM and an hour or so later. Why not just spray the pumpkin during this time period and enjoy dry skin surfaces, for the reminder, of the time that a wet towel would continue, to defeat the dry surface?
