Welcome to this crazy world of BP growing

First, you should repost this question on the general discussions section. Please add the size of your garden, and where the pumpkin is related to the stump, how long is your vine, any other info is good.

Pollinating yourself in addition to the bees is fine, but officially you cannot say "my 1074 brunst was pollinated by my 1125 frantz"

As for what will happen next, hopfully your punkin will grow very big without any problems (bugs, weather, fungus) problems, reallity is that things will come up, and you can first do a search on this site, and post another question when problems arrise.

The best advice I can give is read, read, read, read diaries, the how to section, the posts, just read.

There are many people that are very kind and will help you out.

Good luck

Trainut,

Good growin! I have a small garden also 14X17 there'bouts. I hope what happens next is that your first pumpkin puts on size every day. I would think it'll swell up and turn shiney yellow. Sounds like your vine will run across the grass. You might want to put some composted manure down in front of the vine to give it a good bed to root. The bees do their job, they're very good at it.
Hope you can self-pollinate the next one on the vine. Just watch the females and cover them the night before they open. (Their tip turns yellowish).
Hope your pumpkin is Giant!

Trainut,

Are you asking what to do next? Like, what is the best course of action now that you have a pumpkin pollinated on a vine? What should be the focus in the next week, two weeks? Gary has good suggestion, read the diaries to get ideas on what more experienced growers do after pollinating. Start measuring right away or, start looking for vines to prune? Continue to water the same or adjust?
