1. you go to bed dreaming of the giant you got putting up big daily numbers only to go out the next morning to find the blossom looks like the crack on a fat ladys ass --- but you just take it in stride and walk away
the newbe next door thats always pestering you with silly questions has bigger pumpkins that you ----- you calmly walk into the house and kick the dog in the ass lol
loosing the bases of your plants in early july only makes it a more interesting competition
you never get excited about early growth and would rather talk about a different subject when in company of other pumpkin heads
and finally
you know your experienced when all those that have benefited from your advise are now taking your seed stocks and kicking your ass with them
best of luck to everone the rest of the way

my comments were ment to be humorous although theres a bit of truth sprinkled in each statement
thats the way it is with this hobby if it was that easy everyone would bring monsters to the scale
we still have two competition pumpkins hanging in so theres still hope for the season
i did get a big kick out of driving my riding lawnmower over a couple plants today ( i could not resist the temptation, usually i would pull the plants ) just my way of getting even L O L
