Yup I kept up this year with every 10 days of sevin sprays I guess I should have been useing Ambush for better coverage as they killed 3 of my plants and effected my last plant ( only 2 of them ) I ended up useing a sharp razor and makeing an 2" long cut in the main vine ( 2 different locations) and pulling them out with the tip of the blade, I then applied garden sulphur and allowed the slice to heal in the sun for a day then i burried the entire vine and all secondarys with peat moss and watered the plant well, That was on saturday and plant seems to be ok
Good luck

I don't understand. Everyone in Southern Ontario claims to have seen or been attacked by the SVB. I am in the center of Southern Ontario and in a heavy agricultural area where there should be lots, but I haven't seen one? Even spotting a Cuke beetle is rare now. I have had sevin sprayed on my plants weekly or every two weeks, and that keeps them away.

Be careful with the Malathion....too strong and you'll nuke the plant!

I have yet to see an SVB moth, but did dig a larva out of a leaf stalk yesterday. It bored into the stalk at the base of the leaf and fell to the bottom of the stalk. Fortunately, I noticed the leaf wilting on one side and cut it off. Little buggar never made it into the vine. Lesson learned: burying vines won't keep them out. Spray, Spray, Spray...and drench too ;)
