Maybe it was Bigfoot. No seriously what kind of animals do you have around your area? I have seen rats or mice, what ever they were, chewing on a leaf on one of my plants. Maybe thats your problem. Kevin

I agree.. deer. Try a pepper spray repellant. One bite and they'll be running.

The day before: I go out to my patch at 8:00pm and see my first female about ready to open. "You'll pollinate that one tomorrow!" I says to myself. So I gets up early, gets ready for another great summer day and thanks the Lord for His blessings! I finishes my routine about 7:30am and I then I goes out to the patch to begin a pumpkin! I sees Mr. Squirrel on my fence just staring at me kinda cute. He's next to my patch. I says, "Hi, Mr. Squirrel! How are you on this fine morning?" He runs away. Why? I ask. Why would Mr. Squirrel run away? Then I see why. He's full. Yes, full. He's got my female in his gut. Bad Mr. evil Squirrel! I find him. He's up in the tree. I gets my 35ft. extension poll and poke at him till he jumps down and RUNS! RUN MR> SQUIRREL! YES. RUN! I learns my lesson now. MR. SQUIRREL will never eat another bud! I gets wiser every day.
