While having a look at my plants, I noticed that there is new growth poping out of my buried vines in random places. All growth on the plant has been cut off, and entire plant completely pruned, but these little vines are starting to grow out. The new vines are fat and squishy. The leaves, tendrils, roots, and flowers are kind of deformed on these 'stump suckers' and I don't know why they are just poping up out of the soil. The vine inside doesn't look like a vine should be either. If you get these or know what they are or why they happen please let my know. Thanks!

I am getting them too. Have been cutting them off. I even have one plant that is growing small leaves right at the crown. I think the plant just wants to grow so it does it where ever it can. We stop natural growth by terminating secondaries and mains and the plant rebels by putting out growth where ever it can. Just a nu-B's 2 cents. Peace Wayne

My 1367.5 has to be constantly pruned at the crown because it thinks it's a shrub. Every week I have to take the knife to it and get it under control again. Now there are so many cut off nubs that I can hardly see the actual main itself.

My stump is the same too. It has so many cuts on it, it looks like a heart, with all these cut vine stumps on it it all looks like veins and arteries.
