Well, that time has almost arrived, today is Day 75 for my 1125 Frantz x Self, the measurable growth has all but stopped. We are planning to have an official weigh in Monday morning August 1st, which will be day 80. Today's OTT measurements are 335.7" and an Estimated 795.3 lbs. I am giving everybody time to offer their guess as to how much it will weigh vs. the estimates. Good Luck, and may the heaviest guess win, LOL.

LOL In that case I would like to guess 1000 for you just so I could win. But in reality I would guess 801 lbs. Good luck. Let us know what the final weight is.

1125 (869 Calai X 1225 Jutras)

I think most 869's go to chart and I believe the 1125 would have gone to chart without the mouse problem. I think 1225 offspring go heavy. It seems to me that the wheel shaped fruit like yours lean on the heavy side also. Generally cantalouping like yours is a heavy indication also. So, my gut feeling tells me that you may be lucky enough to go a little heavy, and since its my seed im PRAYING that you go heavy...LOL! So my official guess is 825 lbs. I hope I win because I assume the winner will get a few seeds from the 825 King 05'?!!!!! Good luck bud, you deserve to go over 800! Mike Frantz

The results are in, and they are not great. 684 pounds, 111 pounds lighter than chart. The winner was John Boy with the lightest guess (724 lbs.) and he guessed 40 pounds heavier than the actual weight, LOL. Oh well, there's always next year.

What do you mean not great?!!!!! Ya she went light on you but 684 lbs in your rookie year is FANTASTIC! On top of that you kicked the heck out of the old state record and you are now a STATE RECORD HOLDER!!! With the knowledge and skills you gained this year you will be knocking on 1000 lbs next yr I bet. This summer has been SOOOOO hot way up here in Iowa and things are very tough. Shawn, im not so sure I could grow a 600 lb pumpkin down in southern Arkansas. Your dissapointed you went light, I have been there and done that and it really sucks but soon you will realise that what you DID accomplish was something quight amazing. Even though I havent earned it, you call me a heavy hitter but today my hat is off to you!!!

You guys are right, things could have gone a lot worse than weighing in light. I did what I set out to do. 684 pounds is a lot more than I had originally hoped for. I was disappointed, when I posted the results. I am going to post some better pics of the pumpkin including the concaved bottom that could have helped contribute to it going light. I am anxious to get it cut open and check out the thickness of the side walls etc.
