What do you use? How many build a tent and also cover with a sheet or something? How many just use a ten or blanket/sheet? I use a tent and a sheet.

I am useing 4 wooden stakes and tieing down landscape material overtop. seems to work allright

Dale....I've gotten more accustomed each year to using a white sheet thrown over the fruit. Seems to work just as well unless you really have a thing about keeping the pumpkin dry constantly.

I use steel T-posts, capped with empty plastic coffee creamer containers (to stop tearing) covered with a plastic tarp. This year I found tarps that are silver on one side and I put the silver side up to reflect sun. Peace Wayne

I use a white blanket. I heard that Al Eaton just covers his up as well. If it's good enough for the world record holder, it's good enough for me.

I use a sheet as well.
You can just cover the pumpkin, and not shade any of the valuable leaves.
The only downside I can see, is if you get hail, it won't be much protection to the fruit.

I just get worried about water hittin the pumpkin and setteling under it on the mats we use. Cant take a chance rotting the bottom off of it here. :) I also dont like the stem getting wet, we all know why on this one.
