What's anyone's largest 10 Day circumference? I certainly don't pretend to be even a good grower, but I have a scary one and am curious about all these other high measures to compare to. Why all the spikes this year? 38"cc here...

30" cc. Quite a bit smaller, but was still 5 inches above average pace for 1000 lbs.

The only worry I have about these big early gains is the fact it may be due to the extreme heat a lot of us have been having. I hope the extremly hot weather doesn't lead to earlier than usual maturing pumpkins. Just a thought I've been thinking about lately.

Kyle, I had one hit 36" by day 10 this year(would have likely hit 38" or more, if it weren't for one cool day in the mix). All other days after pollination, were over 90 degrees, I think(through day 10). It's now 60" on day 15. What shape is yours. Mine is a long, oval shape, kind of like a Carolina Cross watermelon. I think the circumference is a little misleading on these shapes. The OTT estimates less than the circumference estimate. Is that the one you said had heavy genetics on both sides? I do hope she keeps up for you, and you grow a special one.

Day 10 on my 1075 Daletas was only 24"...but has averaged 4.7" gain per day in last 7 days to give me 57" circ and 132 ott on day 17. Keeping fingers crossed and knocking on wood...starting to get a headache from all the knocking...Peace Wayne

Ed...I'd say you're happy! Good job. Doug/Mike....The shape is tall and round and on the 916 Golat which was 19% heavy OTc and whose pollinator was 16% heavy OTC. We don't normally get very hot here but it's been in the 90's even here too lately...sure hope she's not just cooking inside.

43" on my 926 Hunt (1097.5 x 842). I really expect it to blow up. Day 15 was 67". I will be great if it can hold together.

i think huff has hit on a good point. all my pumpkins started out like mad with big early gains. i am now seeing them slow down some and are growing at a slower actual rate than my pumpkins last year at equal days of growth. i am seeing some cantaloping on my 34 day old pumpkin on both the stem and blossum sides, which to me seems very early compared to last year. i have also been thinking about the big early gains and quicker maturity rate Huff. anyone else have opinions on this high temps with a early maturation possibility?
