I have a pumpkin 10' out on a main that is close to 100# but looks like it is starting to be done(turning orange). There is another out about 20' at about 30# also on the main. Am I right to cull the 100#er and let the smaller one grow? Dave

dave.....we were just driving by your house on a snoop mission about 2 weeks ago !!! we should stop by some time....email me or nick.
'how orange' is it turning and 'how many inches a day are you getting'. if its orange and you are getting 5 inches a day heck its not done!! looking done and being done are different. i'd measure both the 100 lber and the 30 lber for a week or so and see before making any drastic decisions. good luck !

Just went outside and checked my patch real quick then I ran back in as fast as I could when I seen a bolt of lightning 100 yards away,,,,,,,all my sweet corn that I put around my patch is laying flat on the ground but it did its job protecting most of my patch area,I still have a few broken leaves here and there from what i can see. Not sure about my corn though, dont know if standing it back up and mounding dirt at the base will save it or not, first year ever growing corn.
